I have had much experience flying in Minnesota in the winter. The iPad battery gets cold and that is when it shuts down. It warms itself while working but not enough. So here is what we do (an
Inspire 2 crew of two).
Look at small, fabric insulated coolers. Find one with a lid that fits the iPad. Sacrifice the cooler and cut off the lid. Make strategic cuts for power and holders.
Next, there are heater packs that have an adhesive strip on them. Activate it and stick it on the back of your iPad, in the middle, running lengthwise, as that is where your battery resides. Put that inside your cooler lid and you should be good to go. On the
I2, the controller batteries are large enough you can set the controller to charge your iPad while using both.
