Hi all
I have waited for buying a Mini,.. and then here is the Mini2. So I am quite glad to have waited.
Especially as I am a beginner, I will feel much safer with the Mini2.
But prices for the Mini2 are someway higher than Mini. So I again ask myself if I should invest in the Combo or not for the Mini2.
In fact I do not need a case to carry it.
The only thing I need is the extra battery (just 1 is a bit too short I guess),... and a charger to avoid using the Mini to charge it.
I guess also that for batteries, it is better to use DJI certified battery.
So I am waited for your advice, as you might be a lot having gone thru this decision process.

Thanks in advance

I am also new to drones and originally started with the Tello (a bit of a joke by comparison to be honest). I did end up going with the Mini 2 Fly more mainly for one thing, USB C!

The other features by comparison are very helpful, better connection according to everyone on YouTube that has been making reviews, with some benefits here and there otherwise.

But the USB C addition was the biggest selling point for me more than anything. So far, enjoying it, like the video from the drone, and have been getting various FAA things in place as a military base is right next door

In regards to your initial question, I think the Fly More combo is better currently as finding the extra batteries currently is kind of difficult, if not rather expensive.

The FMC for the MM1 was a no-brainer excellent deal since the cost of the 2 extra batteries and hub was less than the $100 cost of the combo. For the MM2 however, it's not quite as good of a deal, being $150 over the cost of the MM2 itself, but still a good deal.

I again ask myself if I should invest in the Combo or not for the Mini2
Add up the cost of everything in the combo you'd use. If it's less expensive than buying those accessories separately, then the combo would be a good choice for you.

I would definitely say go for the combo. If you’re going out for a full day with the drone, you don’t want to keep charging that one battery in between flights.

Simply the FMC (Fly More Combo) is a no brainer for almost 95% of all that intend to actually fly these things. DJI loves to bundle and that means savings to the consumer in the long run. As mentioned new aircraft tend to be short on spares/batteries for a few months..best to get them when your purchasing aircraft. The time you will spend learning a new aircraft (Let alone your first) will pay for itself with spare batteries alone. :) Also there is ONLY DJI batteries for DJI aircraft at least for a few years if at all...it's like ink for a printer...that's were they really make their money, so if you can get a deal...take it. ;)

Of note: DJI recently raised a FMC for the M2 line about $100 and that is a two year old aircraft...who knows what that is all about?? Buy them cheap when you can!

I got the mini 2, without the $150 combo kit, 2 weeks ago. Figured all I might want to add would be a second battery.
Really can’t go wrong either way.
I like the mini 2 enough so far, that I wouldn’t regret having the combo kit if I’d bought it.

Absolutely combo is the way to go for the extra batteries, case, extra props and is just extra stuff for the value. More fun.

Like you said either way you can’t go wrong, it’s a great drone! Just buy what you need as you go. Enjoy! I’m super happy with mine..

I prefer to go with the basic kit. I really don't need more than 2 batteries and can wait for its availability. The bag is too big so I don't need it either. The FMC is a better deal for the Mavic Mini.

If money is tight, I would just get the drone for now and pick up a extra battery if you find you need it. Most of the time I am just using one battery as I dont want to overheat the motors or anything and I spend time looking at the video/pics that was just taken... I don't have a mini but the Pro 2 and I did buy it with the combo and FPV Goggles.

Personally I would recommend the combo. You will soon find that the extras would be something that you'd be buying soon anyway.
You are fortunate to have the option for the mini 2. I just bought the mini a few months ago, and although it's a wonderful flyer, I would have enjoyed having USB C connection and hi resolution camera.
Don't get me wrong, the camera on the mini is pretty incredible too.
I may end up buying a mini 2 combo and then gift the first one to my grandson.

In my opinion, there is only one reason not to buy the combo and that is if you’re not going to fly much. Only you can decide that. In real life, one battery will only get you approximately 20 minutes of flying time and then it takes a long time to recharge. Also, you have to wait for the battery to cool down before you start the recharge process. I say go combo. Best wishes!

I would definitely consider purchasing the more combo. I purchased the mini back in September ( I am a newbie and wanted to get my wife into flying before I go with anything more expensive). I have 90+ acres behind my house with a 10 acre pond. Exploring this area takes about two full batteries. Not once have I had to recharge my batteries. Plus, traveling with your mini with this "extra" battery is a plus.

I have seen a great suggestion: With the Mini 2 rapid charge option it is more efficient to buy a good Power Bank. A not fully discharged battery will take about 45 min to fully load a battery which is more or less the time that you spend for a flight, with a good power bank you could recharge 7 times . Considering that that same Power Bank will still be used for your future drones and instead the additional batteries will never be valued when you sell the used drone. I had a Mavic Pro with 4 very well maintained batteries but no buyer will give value to that.
With the limited Amperage required by the mini there is no reason to have more than 2 batteries (one loading while the other is flying), so for me the combo is a no go.
Another reason to dislike the combo is that the bags are nice, but unrealistic as they have no space for anything else than the Mavic. If you like filming and/or photography you will always have some more equipment, a camera, an action cam and so on. You will then need a small backpack. With my Mavic I was never able to use once the provided bag.

For me it's FMC no brainer and i have a power bank 26800mah. When i go on a road trip I want power with me . it's like going on road trip on quarter gaz tank. I most of the time i have 4 batteries for each of my drones. ????
