I have the fly more combo with the charger. If you just blindly try to plug it in the plug can go into the larger socket. Mine started making a low whistle and showed some lights. So I then looked and noticed it was in the wrong socket. Not sure if anything would have happened but just noting it is possible.

Oh, this was the Mini 2, btw.

If I am not mistaken you can plug the charger into either the drone or the triple charger, which are you talking about?

It's on the triple charger itself. When I fly my Mini, I carry the triple charger with the batteries in it. Then when I get done and bring the triple charge back, I went to plug the connector into the side. It went in, and I almost left it alone, but I heard a strange noise coming from it. So, when I looked at the side of the triple charger I realized I had stuck it in the wrong port.

That's what she said! ;)

How can you possibly plug the charger into the wrong port? One is a USB C port used for charging, the other is a full sized USB A port for charging other things, like the remote. You can't put a C plug into an A port, at least not solidly and no electrical connection of any kind is possible.

There's no such cable that has an A plug on both sides, and the charger would have an A port.

yes, it is perfectly possible, the type-c plug can be plugged in usb A by mistake, i did it in my pc, and it just made a short circuit and thats all. It doesnt want to work until i plugged out all the cables and put them again

Well I just checked about a C plug fitting into an A port. What I found is that's akin to saying be careful that scissors fit into a wall socket (which I've done as a very young child, that and the spade leads on an old rotary phone).

The height of the C plug is just the height of the gap between the A port tongue that has the data and power pins and the metal spring that holds the A plug in place and ensures the two make electrical contact. The C plug is all metal, so it makes contact with the power and data pins in the A port.

Hey, don't knock the velcro straps. Comes in very handy when you frequently put them on and off when leaving and entering the house.

Thanks for responding.

I titled the thread maybe a warning because I didn’t really know if there was any danger or damage possible. As I said, particularly if you’re not looking at it when you plug it in, it is possible, and it did make some sort of connection. Short circuit sounds pretty accurate, btw

I suspect (though I could be wrong) I won't be the only one to simply plug it in the side without looking at the port. If you're checking the port, it shouldn't happen while you're looking at it.
