I am not getting the same distance with my MA2 that I do with MP2 and P4P V2. From the specs shouldn't the Mavic air 2 get better range then both? I fly in the same area all the time so I can easily see the issues.

You really have to pay attention to aiming the controller at the drone, more so than the old controller... Lots of folks get really amazing range. I tend to keep it closer anyway as my nerves are attached to my wallet.

Have you tried manually setting the frequency and channel to match that of the M2P and P4P V2 ?

I think all four drones are supposed to get about the same range

MA2 uses OcuSync 2.0 just like the M2P. It should be able to achieve the hard-coded range limit of 11 km in low-interference environment. This range has been reported by several owners in a local facebook group. However there have also been reports on lower-than-expected range. May be those owners got lemons or there were interference.

I seem to be getting about the same as my Mavic Air 1 but the video feed is far better and of course the range time wise is a huge improvement as well. Max altitude is a must for max range and I'm not comfortable flying at the higher altitudes. Too many helicopters..

It depends on where you fly it. Fly it in a city and you will get pretty bad range. Fly it out away from a city and you will go further.

I've gotten pretty good range, but I have not pushed it as far as those I've seen in some range videos. I'm sort of like Northwood, I'd rather fly conservative then to have to get a replacement that may or may not cost me anything, just because something odd happened a couple miles out..

There have been as noted, some reports of people sending their drone in for repair and parts were replaced that resolved the range problem.. So its possible you could have a hardware issue..

I used to get about 4 miles when I first bought it. Now it seems to lose connection around 1 mile. Everything else is fine though. Shame.

Flying the same course?

No. I could do the extra distance in the towns. But when out in the mountains, I get much less. I thought it would be the other way around.
If you were able to fly the same course and got far less distance, perhaps there is an issue with your Drone that needs to be reviewed by DJI.... Course if you were visiting some place and took a long flight and its far away from home, then probably not possible.

Flying away from a city with competing signals should extend the range, it can probably depend on the terrain.

It works way farther than I care to fly, so I'm happy!
