I had posted earlier and had a lot of people give me helpful advice and were amazing, but I had a problem after installing the new firmware update my drone wasn’t flying right. The problem is no matter how slow or fast I would go when I would turn the drone would bank like an airplane. Someone had responded with a video on YouTube of a mavic pro with something called “fixed wing mode” it’s a feature that can be turned on or off on the drone but its not available on the MA2. So after hours of troubleshooting and resetting settings I got fed up and I downloaded the DJI assistant and installed the version before the new one and the problem was solved. I was thrilled but sad I can’t use the new update, but the question is...is it possible that an update can work for most people but create some problems for others? I also don’t know if I should do anything more? At the end of the day I’m just happy to have my drone back flying the way it should. Thank you all for everything and have a good night.

There is a gimbal mode called FPV which does just that, tilts the gimbal when turning, are you sure that wasn’t on?
It’s highly unlikely for the firmware to simply not work for you

Did you see my last post to your other thread about the yaw control settings ?

I actually tried that a handful of times. The problem isn’t the gimbal it’s the drone itself banking like an airplane it’s super jittery also when flying on the new update. I spent hours going through every possible setting and reset everything possible. Resetting it to the last update (older one) fixed it.

Ya I did sorry I tried that with no luck sadly :( I tried a different phone also with no luck. Only thing that worked was rolling back to the last update and instantly the problem went away as soon as I took off.

Can you post a video of how it behaves? You’re gonna need it anyway for DJI support if you can’t figure it out....

I’m thinking about getting in contact with DJI because I just have a gut feeling that there’s something that’s wrong with my drone and has been from the start.

I don’t at the moment ( it’s almost 2am where I live) however tomorrow I’m going to create a very clear and detailed video explaining the issue with examples and everything and just hope someone from dji sees it

You can make sure they do, by creating a support case and linking to the video.

No .. everyone else would also be complaining if it it was caused by firmware.
Firmware updates are incorrectly blamed for many things that are completely unrelated to firmware.

In FPV mode, the MA2 will bank in turns like an airplane, and you'll see it on video because the gimbal does not try to keep the horizon level. In Follow or "normal" mode, the MA2 sort of skids around turns, but it keeps the horizon level.

As stated by others, DJI Fly 1.1.6 has a toggle in Normal mode to turn off sideways movement.

Do you have DJI Fly 1.1.6 installed? Firmware 340 probably requires it. It would be strange if your problem is caused purely by firmware, since many have installed 340 including me and it works nearly perfect. At any rate, if it is a firmware problem, it will be covered under warranty.

The thing is that I rolled back to the latest update and the problem disappeared I flew it around and it worked perfectly, but the second I update it to the newest firmware the problem comes back after not changing any settings at all and using DJI assistant, and also using just DJI fly. I’m either missing something that I’m completely unaware of or it would seem to me that something in the new firmware update is doing something to the way it flies. I’m not the kind of person that messes with settings that I have no idea what they do. The only difference from it working to not working was after installing the update.

That’s exactly the problem I want the drone to skid around like you said, and I turned off FPV mode more times than I can count and it changes the way the gimbal behaves but not the drone itself. I tried it last night a ton of times with the same result. Maybe there is a hidden setting that I’m not seeing, but like I said in a reply below or above (not sure sorry) I’m not the kind of person that goes through messing with settings that I have no idea what they do I’m very careful, and just the final thing I forgot to mention I am on DJI fly 1.1.6 on an iPhone. As soon as I’m free today I’m going to make a video showing the issue with a comparison so it makes sense. Thank you for your help.

I'm sure you have..but have you waited for the full update. Mine ran really slow and sat a 99%for a long time. And you did the batteries? I didn't get a prompt for my 2nd and third battery. I don't know what the result would be without the update..might not fly at all

I’m not entirely sure but I’ve updated to the latest version (all of my stuff including phone is updated) and my batteries are all fine and haven’t changed any settings. As soon as I install the new update even using DJI assistant the second I take the drone up it seems to be locked in this flying mode.

very strange but..looks like you're going to need to send it to DJI. very frustrating dealing with support as they are slow and seem to know nothing, but they'll send you a mailing label and you'll get it straightened out. You updated the fly app too right?

Ya I did sadly :( pretty much every option for getting this working hasn’t worked. I’m still going to make a video about it so I can show everyone and dji the problem.

I haven't seen any issues with the new FW yet, but I have only tested a few items. But I sense you may have an issue with your quad, if others have not experienced that issue. Good luck.
