Flying a MA2 on normal setting, clear day, no errors. On final approach for land, about 6 feet from the target, the drone stopped responding to roll left and right command. Pitch, yaw, throttle, all fine, so I landed. Took off again cautiously...same thing happens so I switched to sport and roll was restored. Switched back to normal and it WAS...normal, with roll. Whaddaya think?

If it happens again you’ve got the in-flight fix now. Just flip the switch and the flip it back.

Dunno, could of been a glitch of some sor. I turned on my M2 & Smart Controller the other day. SC powered up normally, but when connected to the drone there was no camera image, dark except for all the usual data displayed. Powered both down and back on. All worked fine. One of them conundrums I guess.

It's kind of odd that it stopped allowing you to have control. I never had that happen, but on my M2 the switch will be in one mode but flying in another and I switching modes brought it back to where it needed to be. I'm glad everything got back to normal. You may want to contact DJI to see if they have a reason so you don't have to be concerned about it happening again in a critical moment.

Could it be that you inadvertently touched the icon for "Disable sideways flight"? This icon is right above the "Return to home" icon on the far left of the screen in the Fly2 app, and would be easy to accidentally touch while landing. For those unfamiliar with this feature, it was newly added in August updates. ("Disable sideways flight" can also be turned on in the safety options, but that's unlikely to have occurred here.)

Just a thought.

Has happened to me, just switch it to across to tripod and then back to normal OR sport

Ha!...that makes the most sense. Thanks!

This again confirms my rule of electronics of any sort....just re-boot it. Works with iPhones, iMacs, PC's, Comcast TV, and most other electronics. Before calling for a repair just turn the thing off, wait a bit, and then turn it on.

You forgot the most important part “Give it The Face” otherwise it won’t work. ?

This is not necessarily true with pc's. Some viruses are not able to initially install so they just put the .exe into the startup. So when you do reboot it installs the virus as soon as it starts up. Always check startup items in the task manager and the windows startup folder before you reboot your system if you think something is wrong. Even run a scan before rebooting if you think it's bad.

Mais bien sur! (But of Course!). That the very first thing that I do. It usually doesn't help ( or in German- gournischt helfen).
If it is truly German (rather than Yiddish), I believe you meant "garnicht helfen." ?

But not in this case... sounds more like it was inadvertent operator error

I learned a little Yiddish from my parents (now deceased) while growing up. They spoke it in the house when they didn't want me to hear what they were saying. They pronounced it (phoenetically) guernischt helfen, or gournischt Helen. (it means - "it won't help.").

If you have a SC it’s wise to not load any additional software. The more you load, the more there’s a chance they will interfere with the DJI Go app. Not saying this is the reason, just some advice from a long time IT professional.

When first began flying my MA2 it did that. I discovered that I inadvertently changed the APAS (advanced pilot assistance system) setting during the flight. One of the settings turns off sideways flight. You can still flight forward and backward and up and down. I recommend reviewing the use of APAS in the user manual and video tutorials. Happy flying. I hope this helps.
