Has anybody seen this red Icon before?

Yes.

Interestingly enough, I got this same icon for the first time today. I recalibrated the compass and didn’t see it after.

I have it all the time. I've been recalibrating the phone's compass. I'll do the drone's.

And it did not help.

Might be a weak GPS lock, don't want to provide misinformation though, so don't take that as fact please, unless confirmed.

It means the Russians have hacked your phone.

It just means that the compass is having some issue on your phone. I'm not sure if it's a bug from DJI's app or not, because if you open the iOS compass app this works perfectly fine.

I’m using iPad mini 5. No compass on it I know of.

That icon has appeared many times on my phone while im flying

Mine quit working when i got a replacement ma2 and started running 1.1.5 . Crashed 1st one was working great on it. Replacement has never worked. It shows approx where in front of you it is and the orientation of the drone comparison to you. I found it useful.

Yep. I had it a few times. The app is telling the you that the compass needs calibrating. Problem is...there is no compass in the wifi only model. I need a wifi/cellular version.

It means the app can’t get good compass information from the phone (either that or the drone doesn’t yet have a good GPS lock but that’s not the case here judging by the top icons)

Very helpful. I was trying to find a compass built into my wifi only iPad. LOL

personally i dont ever use it as i have a WIFI only ipad it never gives an accurate reading ,even when its white so i just turn on the map and use that to show my direction from the home point

I’m new and never even noticed it until it turned red. So I guess I never used it either. I’m seeing 15 satellites so I think I’m okay.

It didn’t work at all for me with the Mini but it works perfect with the Air2. Looks like the different remote design is a better fit with my phone’s compass (iPhone 11 Pro). However, the fact that this is visible only when not showing the map in the bottom left makes it useless to me as I always want to have the map visible

If you expand the MiniMap the icon goes away and gives you a heading for your drone

I’ve gotten that a few times with both my Mini and my MA2. What I’ve found is that I have the RC and phone too close to my body (I usually have my controller near my belt line) and I think the belt buckle may be causing interference with the phone compass. Usually if I move the controller away from the buckle or pick it up higher above my belt, that icon goes away and returns to normal. Luckily, I’ve never had an issue the AC acting differently when that icon is red

I preferred Go4's handling of orientation. Fly is so much an infant in need of parenting.

Tonight I was using my iPhone SE 2020 and the icon appeared while the Air 2 was sitting on the ground. It also disappeared and all went back to normal.

It makes me think the controller isn’t seeing the display device. Looked through the documentation but didn’t see anything.
