Good morning...sometimes it's a bit of a pain for me to get the gimbal facing straight ahead when putting the cover on.
I just put it on with it somewhat askew but it doesn't move around...does anyone know if it really matters?
If it does I'll do what I need to do to get it perfectly positioned straight ahead but just wondering if it even matters.
Thanks,
Randy

it would be better if you could get it on correctly, but just make sure its not putting the mountings or connector cables under strain

Yes it does fit specifically in there one direction so I’d recommend putting it on straight ahead. I only put mine on when I’m traveling/casing up, otherwise my ac stays out of the case and on the table without the cover, ready to fly.

A bit like Thunderbird 1 - always ready for launch?

Lol yes! Ready and waiting. I’m lucky in that my little bit of city here allows me to fly from my house. For flying it’s fun but repeating the same footage gets old.

And I see that you're not only "Well Known," but "Jealously Well Known."

I found the gimbal cover not easy to put on so I found a gimbal hood on Amazon similar to one I had used on another drone. It helps protect in a crash and helps with side light glare. I leave it on all the time and when I travel with my drone it sits nicely in my Lowepro backpack without touching anything.

Wouldn't your gimbal just flop around whenever being moved/transported?

No more than if you had the cover on. The DJI cover provides slightly better protection if your Air 2 is moving around in your carrying case, but if you secure you drone well, it's no problem. I was more leery of damaging the gimbal taking the DJI cover on and off. Also bad if you start the Air 2 and forget to remove the cover first:-0 I've had the one in the picture on two of my drones with zero issues, plus even when you're just moving it around to fold it or deal with props, it give a bit of bump protection.

I use that on my Mini AND Mavic 2 Pro. Never had a problem.

Not sure this is accurate - the gimbal cover on my Mini literally holds the camera in place so it can't flop around.

Maybe the Air's gimbal cover is different, though?

No, MA2 cover also literally holds the camera in one spot (very snuggly)

For my travels that gimbal would be toast if that’s all I used but I could see it working for light travel. Picking one up!

Now that I see it as described on Amazon I'm wondering if there is any reason why I would t want one for my MA2?
