Yankee game was just halted and players left field due to drone flying over the stadium. Looked like a MP.

Prolly Kevin Cash going after the Yanks bullpen. Little heat between those two teams lately.

Might also be Astros testing out a new system to steal signs. Can't be more obvious than beating on a garbage can from the dugout. Geez.
Whatever happened to just smashing mailboxes?

Oh well with a drone it is the drone that gets smashed, not the mailbox.

Teams have social media departments and some of them use drones. There is a slight chance the operator could have been a team employee on either side.

In spring training it’s not uncommon now for drones to take photos of formations. The NFL does the same during practices.

Absolutely. I haven’t found any articles yet that mention whether or not it was being flown by the media or by some random person. I just thought it was interesting to see.

Usually when it's being flown in conjunction with a team/venue they don't stop the game and evacuate the field. At the very least someone "in-the-know" will chime in and say, "Oh that's ours and it's good to go".

I find it interesting that they stop at all. Not seeing a guns on it. I suppose it had to be some kind of huge threat to stop a game of ball players.

I'd say Knee Jerk reaction 100%. Otherwise it wouldn't make the NEWS!!

This is my first post as a new member and I was prompted to post only because this was done by someone in my "backyard" where I was born and raised. I really hope like someone posted, that it was an employee, although I doubt it. This doesn't help the rest of the community regardless of who flew it. We need to say something when we see something (dumb) or we won't be flying for too long, s it is already. (i.e. Remote ID) HFTA :)

Like someone said, this looks like a DJI. On my app there is red no fly zones around places like stadiums and prisons, so how would you even fly here without getting prior permission?

You can replace the main-board of the craft with a third-party one without GEO. Also you can self-certify that you have permission to fly (I think you can do that for an NFZ??) Because it is possible that you have permission to Fly around the event if hired and properly waived for the event. But if you self-certify and "lie" about it you've really just hung yourself.
Also devices like Aeroscope are being utilized to nail "pilots" who believe they are above the law. DJI AeroScope - Drone Security Solutions - DJI While Aeroscope is nice this is why the FAA WILL implement Remote ID across all platforms. But then the baddies just won't participate - again - penalizing the good people instead of the other way around. :-(
