Can someone help me decide.

I need a drone that takes quality pics/vids for traveling. Will a mini 2 be good enough? Quality of the camera is important!

ps: I Had the MM1. Wasn't convinced about the 2.7k.

Grtz

Considering that outside of a hard case upgrade both their fly more combos come with an identical sized "purse" that knocks portability out of the equation. MA2 has a longer flight time, The ability to fight stronger head winds (as the level 5 wind rating of the mini 2 has to be while hover since it's slower than the MA2), 4K 60FPS, and of course the added benefits of obstacle avoidance sensors, APAS, and active track.

I'm probably forgetting a few other things but those are the obvious ones. While I aim to add the mini 2 to my arsenal had I been given the option to chose between the 2 the MA2 would have been the clear winner.

I appreciate your advice! grtz

Thanks! But is it really worth it to spend 800-1000 Euro on a 'good' drone, and for all we know there's a Mp3 on it's way? So, is it more justified to buy an MM2 and wait for the Mp3 as a better investment?
If you hang around for the next new thing you never buy anything, a new version is always going to come at some point.

Only you can know that brother.

I bought the Mavic Mini and ended up buying the MA2 2 days later as i loved flying drones so much and wanted the upgrade. I've seen lots of people do the exact same!
I sold the Mini a week or so later and lost £40 on it so would have been better just getting the MA2 to start with.
The MP3 has supposedly been going to launch twice recently that i know of and i've seen guys much more clued up than i am about drones say "why would they launch the 3 when the 2 is still selling so well"?
Only you can know what you wanna do. You asked for advice.... my advice is get the MA2.

What you do with that advice is up to you....

Happy flying however you end up! ?

I have the Mini 1, Mini 2, and a friend with Air 2. All I can say is go for the mini 2 if it`s for traveling, the weight will make it so you dont have much trouble with the authorities where you are flying, the quality is great, windspeed resistance is now close to the same as the Air 2 and the 4k now is pretty **** good. I cannot justify the additional investment for the Air2. But ofc it depends on the use case, you really need the bigger sensor and doing semi pro stuff then ofc go for larger sensor.

The MM2 is a great drone and very capable but... The Mavic Air 2 is a more complete drone with obstacle avoidance, tons of advantages with the sensors. The tracking system is even better than the Mavic 2 Pro since is newer.

The MA2 also offers 4K/60FPS for videos that are amazing and also a bigger sensor, helping taking better pictures and also is capable of 48 megapixels. For traveling the MM2 takes the win but the MA2 is not far in size.

Finally, for the price, the MA2 offers much more for your bucks. I own all the 3 drones, don't get me wrong, but my very honest opinion would get the MA2 as a first drone.

I hope this information helps with your decision. As a drone enthusiast, I bought both of them.

Do you want obstacle avoidance? Larger sensor for better low light conditions? Or under 250g, lighter, smaller?
I’d go with the MA2 if $$ isn’t an issue. I’m still on the Mavic Air and it still performs great with photos and 4K so I won’t be jumping ship just yet.

the Mini2 wins hands down for traveling just from its size and the rules it needs to fly under, also have you compared the size of the batteries alone between the MA2 and M2 it is a true pocket drone and the enhancements from the MM ,have improved its capabilities

So there you have it. It comes down to weight and capability. At the end of the day which means more to you? I don't know the specifics to flying in Belgium so perhaps it does make more sense for you to have a sub 250G drone. But if the laws are similar to the ones here in the USA then we have a bit more availability to lean towards the capabilities of a drone rather than skirting heavy regulation. Me personally paying an additional $5 to register a drone with the capabilities outclassing the Mini 2 isn't a big deal.

OP seems to be more concerned about video quality. A clue is that he's not happy with the M1 2.7k video. The MA2 does have a slightly bigger sensor size and 48MP. 12MP is also specified, so there may be caveats or limited situations where you get 48MP. If image quality is super important, then you'd need the M2P.

NO

I am also concerned about image quality .
I sold my MM and bought a Mini2
I wish I could get the MA2 for the optical HW superiority but try to register and fly a >250gr drone in Austria ... then suddenly MA2 does not worth the effort
