Is it too much to hope someone at DJI figures out that with the huge gimbal pan range of the MA2 the collision sensors should be facing in the direction of travel in quick shot and active track modes? The OA pretty good! So it kills me that when doing a circle the drone flies sideways where it has no OA sensors when it could just as easily pan the gimbal 60+ degrees and be able to point the OA sensors in the direction of travel.

DJI Fly is probably the biggest downside of the MA2, according to this post: Mavic Air 2 Big Updates in Q3: Gimbal/Camera/Exposure Settings and More! - %%, the DJI GO PM Team who is responsible for the app replied to a thread in DJI's official Chinese forum that most of the issues will be fixed in Q3.

The updates will include gimbal smoothness settings, exposure settings, Attitude Indicator, and more.

No mention of an improved battery percentage indicator....

The option has always been in the software (since the Mini has it) however if you check again when actually connected to the aircraft the option is gone.

Interestingly it was available in the beta version of the software for the Air 2, but removed when it went final. Not sure whether that means it was unintentional (again, since the functionality exists) or if there was some problem with it and the Air 2, and it will be back as soon as that is resolved.

Im hating that i cant lock the exposure when shooting in manuel video... i can lock it in auto, but not in manual.
? You do know your exposure lock is YOU being in manual mode controlling what your exposure is don't you? lol Manual is just that MANUAL. NO need for exposure lock in manual doesn't even make sense. Only for auto modes.

Which option are you talking about?

I am hoping that these updates roll out for ANDROID and not just APPLE. DJI seems to lean towards APPLE a lot because it is easier. Love the MAVIC AIR 2 though and really like how I can just flip it into tripod mode from the RC which takes away some of the issues about no expo available, for me anyway. I do like the idea of the drone panning the gimble during quick shot and active track modes so the OA sensors can cover the forward motion of the drone and and do not see any reason technical reason why it couldn't be implemented. I am sure that would be one very well received update.

My guess is that is takes a lot longer to test the Android app changes.

The DJI Smart Controller internally runs Android though, so I'm sure the updates will come to Android eventually, since DJI is also updating the Smart Controller to work with the Mavic Air 2.

Here is my problem:
1st, I incorrectly advised a member to use DroneDeploy or Pix4D on Air 2. Yesterday, I did some research and learned they do not work on Air 2!
2nd, and more important to me is...If and when will the Mavic Air 2 work on DroneDeploy or Pix4D? I ordered and Air 2 that is supposed to be delivered today or Monday. I need to know if I should return it unopened and then go for a Mavic 2 Pro.

As long as DJI does not release the SDK, neither DD or PIX4D will work.

Go for the M2P

Based on my experience with the DJI MIMO app for their OSMO Mobile 3 Gimble It isn't so much about it taking longer it is more about the variations within the ANDROID versions. Each manufacturer seems to put a bit of their own slant on ANDROID so they don;t share the same cross the board compatibility as the close APPLE environment. I get that, but what I don;t get is that they (DJI) claim that certain phones on ANDROID have compatibility when they actually have significantly less functionality. What I am saying is that if DJI claim compatibility with IPHONE and some ANDROID devices then they should have the same functionality and I really hope that what they have done with regards to the different levels of functionality I see with the MIMO app do not make their way over to the FLY App to the MAVIC AIR 2. I don't want or expect EVERY ANDROID device to work I just want the ones that DJI say are compatible to have the same functionality as the APPLE version. Shouldn't be too much to ask for should it.
