i got this message saying the cpu was full and flight might be effected....and it sure was. I have an ipad mini4. I noticed that my dji fly app has got 6 gigs worth of documentation and files in it.....but there seems to be no way to clear that....I can on android. But perhaps that is not the problem. Any thoughts? How can clear out the cache?

No idea what your problem was as I don't use an iPad.( I hate the things )
The CPU, Central Processing Unit shouldn't be effected by the amount of documentation and files as that should be in the device’s storage.
The only thing I can think of is the iPad got overworked and couldn’t handle things.

Clear cache in Fly app.

Unfortunately you are going to see the message "Device CPU Fully Loaded, Related Performance Will Be Affected" on older iOS devices, even mini 4. (Search that quote for lots of posts on this forum).

It means the Processor (CPU) is not fast enough to handle all the demands of bloated DJI apps. It has nothing to do with device storage. Lowering demands on your device will help but not eliminate the message. But if you lower demands you can't take full advantage of the drones functions. Also in hot weather when the CPU is working hard and the device gets hot it will reduce screen brightness, and can turn off the device to allow it to cool down. Not what you want to happen.

As far as I could tell with my iPhone 6S and iPad Mini 2 no drone performance was affected. But the persistent message was unnerving at first. And I did have reduce brightness at times.

iPadMini 5 has not had the message in a year of flying. And I can load up the CPU with screen recording, video cache, map cache, etc. Have never seen it on the Mini 5.

Sometimes you just have to upgrade your device.

In the camera settings under advanced shooting settings turn off the histogram, overexposure warning, video subtitles and cache when recording.
All of these are a bit superflous

I also understand grid lines can also impact on the cpu

Also get rid of all other apps running in the background. Shutting down an app still leaves apps running in the background, taking up some cpu resources.

i found that setting....but it won't allow me to clear the video cache where all the weight is.
a button comes up and says clear video cache...i click yes and nothing happens. does it need to be connected to the controller?

I would like to do that but I an not familiar with apple and have no idea how to do that. I bought the mini4 just to run my Mini....can you tell me how to do that?

Quick double click on home button until all the apps windows that are running appear. Them swipe up on the apps you don’t need. The window for that app should disappear completely. You will be amazed at the number of apps that are lurking in the background.

Note that this is vital if you use more than one DJI drone control program such as Litchi and one of the DJI programs. They both use the same DJI app interface, and can directly conflict with one another, causing unexpected and bad results.

Speaking of Litchi, When will it support the Mini and should it be less CPU intensive?

dirkclod i have an i pad mini 4 and i get the same message all the time about cpu being full.
do i need to spend another 349.00 for the i pad mini 5 or would that just be a waste of money?
is this cpu warning realy a problem or can it just be ignored?
thx D
Dirby I would think what you have would be sufficient if it was configured correctly .Afraid I’m no techie though and can’t advise
you. I have what I have because I work the forums from it when not
on mac as well as fly with it. When I had the mini though it gave me no issues but that was when all we had was the MP. The app does
demand more now.

Wow...that is so weird. I turned of the video cache on the dji app and i didn't get the full cpu message at all today. In the camera settings.

Thanks, didn't know that function! I only use my mini to fly my drone too.

I only get the error if I am doing a screen video recording from the mini 4 while flying and capturing M2Z video.

I generally use my iPad Pro 11, but sometimes use my iPad mini 4 and have received this message. I have noticed that it only happens when it is very hot outside (the high 90s to around 100) and I forgot to close all the other running apps, which someone has explained. If you can stay in the shade, keep the sun off of it, and don't have a case on it, you should be ok. But the heat is a limiting factor for the iPad Mini 4... I'm waiting until the successor to the latest iPad Mini (5) comes out, which I think will be this fall.

You know that you can still fly your drone without the app running - if it crashes, for example? The control link is from RC to aircraft not from the app to the aircraft. (Unless, of course, the MM is completely different from all other DJI drones.)
