Black Friday Sales - Looking for Mavic Air 2

from past experience i dont think you will find the new Mini 2 being discounted as its just been released, i fully expect the original MM to be offered at a reduced price though

I could eat my words, but I'm guessing you're not going to see an killer deals on the MA2 during the holidays (beyond what's already out there) due to the fact how well these things seem to hold their value on the secondary (used) market. I waited awhile before picking up an "open box" type deal, and the truth is I only saved about 10% or so off retail (new). It seems as though the supply/demand has been very tight on this particular model.

For the Air 2, I suspect you'll get something like this... This is the equivalent retail holiday (Double Eleven) in China that just finished.

For DJI, there were hefty discounts on older stock. I got an Osmo 3 combo for 629 RMB, discounted from the normal 899. They also threw in a bag of some sort (I don't think it's anything special).

But for new(er) products, there was no discount, or only small freebies added on to sweeten the deal. That's the case with the Air 2. It was being sold at the regular price, but you get a set of ND filters for free. I'm 99% sure it's just the same set you normally get from the FMC deal.

Here in the USA, traditionally Black Friday has been the Friday after Thanksgiving, where Thanksgiving is always on Thursday.

However to avoid crowds because of Covid-19, Black Friday is becoming Black November.

Heindrich, I do not too often get to talk with someone in China.. HI. Your monetary nomenclature "RMB" what does that stand for? Just curious.

Scott, in South Carolina.

Sure, RMB stands for Ren Min Bi (人民币), which is the official name of the Chinese currency. It's literal meaning is "People's Coin". It's used like how USD refers to US dollar, or GBP is British Pound. All currencies have a three letter code like that, so when people want to be clear about currency units, they tend to use USD/GBP/RMB, instead of symbols that could be confused.

Thanks!

I have googled but haven't found any. I'm checking to see if anyone else has found any. Thanks in advance!
I just wanted to explain the term "Black Friday" to those non USA participants in the forum. Supposedly, as I understand it, that was the first day that most businesses in this country finally turned an actual profit for the year! Yes, they were now in the Black, as opposed to being in the red. Thus, they were losing money all year long, but they depended on the holiday season (Thanksgiving through Christmas) for the bulk of their sales. This season was kicked off with the first day after Thanksgiving). Thought you would like to know.

And now they just can’t wait that long to get our money!!
Started out as the day after Thanksgiving , then thanksgiving day, and now months before.

yes- everyone who ever ordered from them got this. I have the first Osmo Mobile and it works find but is does not fold. It is very nice but folding would be better.

There could be a few that did not get the email that may find it handy... I've been pondering a gimbal for phone stabilization, still not quite sure what to get. There have been a few iterations of the Osmo since yours, are they more versatile?

The first one works just fine except it doesn't fold. It fits my iPhone 10 Pro Max and My I Phone 11pro Max. (I gave the 10 to my wife) The stabilization is great. It works with the Mi Mo app. First have to balance the phone the first time, and it can do everything- timelapse, slo motion, etc.Following on a bumpy train or in a bumpy car shows no jumping, etc. I sold it on e-bay but the buyer was really unable to understand how to pair it to the app and demanded a refund and return, claiming it down;t work. It worked fine and still does. Pay Pay made me refund and pay postage. Ugh! So I still have it. Any offer would be considered!

Yeah, some people just have trouble comprehending some technology... I suspect I'd like something that maybe more compact like you do that folds if I ultimately get one, we'll see how it goes, hopefully you'll find a new home for yours.
